A kinetic chandelier built for Appgate: three concentric rings, the largest three meters in diameter, driven by nine motors and lit with addressable RGBW LED.
Weight was the defining constraint. For the rings to move fast and stop safely, the structure was designed using aerospace techniques, stripping mass wherever possible while maximising strength and stiffness across a three meter span. Each ring also breaks into three segments for transport and reassembles on site without losing its geometry, packing into a bespoke crate we designed and built to carry the entire system, chandelier, control rack, and computer included.
We handled the project end to end: design, structural and electrical engineering, bespoke LED fabrication, the low voltage wiring, the control rack, assembly, and the show itself.
The system calibrates itself on startup, so a local crew can hang it, power it, and run it without us on site.
